Very important activity was a guided tour of the city. Students went by bus to the center of the city. The parade started at the monument to the corsar Jean Bart at the Jean Bart square. Students were divided into international pairs and got the worksheet. They had to answer some questions and identify present places comparing tham with pictures 100 years old. They learned about special belltower called Beffroi. I tis typical for many towns in France. They could saw a memorial for Czechoslovac soldiers who helped to free the city in the WWII. They also visited the church of Saint Eloi which was built around 1450. Next were the town hall, The Leughenaer Tower, a small chapel Notre Dame des Dunes, The Duchesse Anne, the largest sailing yacht , The Princess Elizabeth, a passenger-carrying paddle steamboat. They also saw the Dunkirque lighthouse. Students worked very well and they learned so much about the historical facts of the city. 

Students got to know the history of the city, saw important historical monuments with their own eyes. They were interested in the fact that soldiers of the Czechoslovak Army also took part in the liberation of the city.
