The headmaster welcomes the students and introduces the programme for the week. He explains the main school rules, reminding everyone that it is a mobile-free school. Although students are allowed to keep their phones with them, they may only use them with the teachers’ permission. He also insists on the importance of punctuality, as the group is very large and all activities have been carefully scheduled to ensure that everything runs smoothly. After this introduction, we present the different activities planned for the week. These include workshops related to art, guided visits to discover the town’s most significant buildings, and activities focusing on the region’s most important cultural and historical heritage. The aim is to help students understand the local environment, learn more about European cultural diversity, and reflect on the values connected to our common heritage. Students from the French, Lithuanian, and Slovak schools then introduce their own schools. They highlight what makes their establishments special, describe their daily routines, and share interesting facts about their school communities. They also emphasise the importance of Erasmus mobilities, explaining how these projects allow young people to open their minds, develop new skills, and build long-lasting friendships across Europe. This exchange of presentations helps the whole group get to know each other better and creates a positive atmosphere for the rest of the week

The students quickly notice the main differences between Institut Josep Lluís Sert and their own schools, especially regarding size, facilities, and overall organisation. Thanks to the presentations given by each group, they gain a clearer understanding of how each school functions in its daily routine and what makes it unique. Mobile phones are strictly forbidden inside the school, which encourages learners to stay focused and work more independently. Our visitors were surprised at first, but they soon realised how this rule contributes to a calmer environment and more efficient learning.

They also understood the connection between the school’s policies and the theme ART of the mobility. This experience helped them reflect on how different educational systems can shape students’ habits, expectations, and ways of learning. It was also an opportunity for them to compare their own schools with Institut Josep Lluís Sert and to appreciate the diversity of approaches within the Erasmus community.
