FRBV25- ENGAGE – Perseverance- LC- Drama performance
16 juin 2025For the second year running, 4th graders (aged 13 to 14) in the RESpectOl Erasmus+ project had the opportunity to take part in a drama workshop led by comedian Marjorie Efther. To tackle the theme of identity, Marjorie chose to work with Joël Pommerat's text Pinocchio.
They had 10 working sessions at school with the professional actress from January to May. Then came May 23rd, the day of the final performance. Before the show in the Bateau Feu, Dunkirk's national stage, the students spent the last day rehearsing. In the morning, accompanied by their teachers, they performed the play to check stage positioning. They realized once again that they had to force their voices to be heard by the entire audience present in the evening. The theatre technical teams took note of the staging elements (lighting effects and musical moments). After lunch, they rehearsed again on stage: the pressure was mounting, the students felt more and more stressed, but a joyful, collective atmosphere was created as the hours went by. The hour was approaching... after a moment of concentration with Marjorie, the students got into position, the theatre started to fill up...Let the show begin... The students began acting, taking into account the advice given during the day. They enjoyed performing on stage. Some created a real sense of complicity. When the play ended, they were relieved, happy and proud of what they had achieved.
They took their bows to the applause of the audience (made up mainly of their families and staff from the Collège Boris Vian). During this project, the students tested their perseverance, their courage (some of them are very shy), their ability to work as a team and their desire to cooperate. The students undoubtedly put into practice the Olympic values of commitment, perseverance, team spirit courage and respect of the othersWell done to them!
