FRBV26 DEM-CC The European Flag: More Than Just Stars

To deepen their understanding of European identity, the students participated in an interactive workshop centered on the EU flag.

The session began with a diagnostic quiz and feedback session to clarify the flag's history and symbolism.

Moving from theory to practice, students collaborated in small groups to "redesign" the flag by inscribing large yellow stars with keywords representing Erasmus+ values, acquired skills and personal emotions.

The activity concluded with five-minute group presentations, where students shared the meaning behind their choices.

These newly created stars were then be added to a large blue canvas to create a collective masterpiece, respecting the design of the original European Union flag.  The three final flags were displayed as centerpieces for the presentation of certificates and farewell party.

The students decoded the meaning behind the 12 stars and the background of the flag. They realised the values of "Unity in Diversity" and how the flag serves as a common visual language across different cultures.

This reflection sparked a broader reflection about their Erasmus+ journey, highlighting how the experience has reshaped their skills and broadened their horizons in ways they sometimes never expected.

Sharing these experiences allowed students to showcase their growth, resulting in a marked increase in self-confidence, cultural awareness, and language proficiency.
