The activity took place on the first day of the hosting week in France. The French teachers welcomed the Romanian and Spanish students and gave them an informative booklet about the week.

First, we looked altogether at the itinerary  of the week and the students received some general recommendations  to prevent any issues during the visits and with families and host friends. They were also given advice as to the expected behaviour and the rules in the school: the use of mobile phones for example.

Then, the students were divided into two groups and worked in pairs (French and foreign partner)  on the booklets. As some photos in the booklet were voluntarily missing, the students were given an envelope with all the  photos  and they had to  stick them next to the text of each monument or place that would be visited during the week. The French students had to speak to their partners to share their knowledge about the different places. When all the photos were stuck in the right places, the teachers asked them some oral questions about the different information given in the booklet.

The students discovered the different places they would visit during the week and learnt about them (culture, history, geography, connection with the theme of the project: water). They were all very active and engaged in the activity. They strengthened the bonds with their partner by helping each other. They were able to measure the importance of the Erasmus+ project by being received by the school Erasmus team and coordinator and seeing that this project involved a group of people ready to help them and feel comfortable for the week. They practised both listening and speaking English while working on the booklet. They also heard about the rules in the school and the importance of respecting them
