FRBV26 INC CAE – Visit to the city of Brussels

Led by two expert guides from the Maison de l’Europe in Dunkirk, we embarked on a journey through the heart of Brussels to explore its historic soul and modern landmarks. . Our tour began beneath the 19th-century glass vaults of the Saint-Hubert Royal Galleries, where we marveled at the elegant Florentine Renaissance architecture.

Next, we arrived at the Grand-Place, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There, we admired the magnificent facades of the guild houses dating from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, as well as City Hall and the Maison du Roi.

No visit would be complete without a stop at the iconic Manneken Pis, followed by the statue of 14th-century hero Everard t’Serclaes. Legend has it that touching this statue brings good luck.

After that, we walked along the Mont des Arts for about 45 minutes to reach the European Quarter, home to numerous European institutions such as the Parliament, the Council of the European Union, and the European Commission, as well as many museums including the Museum of Natural Sciences, the House of European History, and the Parlamentarium.

To wrap up our tour of the capital, we had a picnic in Leopold Park under beautiful sunny skies.
