MAISON DE L’EUROPE (“House of Europe”)05 août 2022
First of all, two mediators from the House of Europe visited the class on the occasion of Erasmus Days. Using a slideshow, they explained the missions of a Europe House and the "Europe direct" label set up by the European Commission, then the services offered in Dunkirk to the local population and the projects carried out.
After that, they asked the students about the origins of the European Union, the values and symbols of Europe, and their rights as European citizens.
Finally, the students had to answer a quiz for the young people of Dunkerque : "What is your Europe? to find out :
-what Europe meant to them
-whether they felt like European citizens
-their hopes, concerns and expectations regarding the future of Europe.
All students actively participated in the dialogue with the mediators. They willingly accepted to take part in the citizen consultation that was proposed to them, and the assessment that was made by the mediators underlines that they answered all the questions and made interesting proposals
