SPB23 Guided visit to museu Cau Ferrat
30 nov. 2023The students participated in a guided tour around Museu Cau Ferrat to learn about the painter Santiago Rusiñol (1861-1931). The Cau Ferrat House was acquired in 1893 by the artist as a home workshop which became a venue for the gathering of modernistartists, promoting both an artistic movement and a way of life.
Nowadays called the temple of Modernism, the house was transformed into a museum in 1933 and now contains collections of ancient art gathered by the artist himself (painting, wrought iron, ceramics, glass, sculpture and furniture) and modern art (painting,drawing, sculpture) with works by Rusiñol and other artists. The guide focused on some works of art and explained to the studentsthe main features of some paintings, how the artists were influenced, how they played with light and shadow, they applied paint, they created impressions.
