RO25 Reception at the city Hall of Târgu Jiu

At the beginning of the afternoon, the students left the school and walked to the town hall of Târgu Jiu.

They were gathered together in the large meeting room of the municipal council.

Everyone was very impressed. After a few minutes, the Mayor of the city, Florin Carciumaru, entered the room, wearing his mayoral sash. The solennity of the moment struck everyone, all the more so because we knew that he had a very busy schedule in this election time. Everyone appreciated the fact that he dedicated some time to us.

Mr Carciumaru gave a few words of welcome, reminded of the links between Romania and France and underlining the importance of education.

He also expressed his full support to European projects and Erasmus + projects in particular and the universal values they promote:  tolerance, excellence, inclusión, openmindedness and culture.

He also wished everyone a very pleasant and fruitful week in Târgu Jiu.

Finally, the students all received a few presents from the municipality.

The students discovered part of democratic life. They felt valued by this reception and increased their awareness of being part of a larger community. They also became more aware of the values promoted by the project and the importance and impact of being part of it.
