The activity followed on from the morning workshop where the students had gathered al lot of information about the city of Târgu jiu.

 After the reception at the Town Hall, the students were divided into 3 groups and started exploring the city.

They all had their mobile phones with the application GooseChase downloaded. This app offered a sort of digital treasure hunt created by the teachers of the school.

The students had to complete missions related to the life and work of the great sculptor Constantin Brâncuși, discovering his iconic artworks displayed in the city : The Endless Column, The Gate of the Kiss, The Table of Silence. They also had to find other places and carry out a specific task near the monument (selfies, fashion show, standing all hand in hand round the Table of Silence, etc…)

When all the groups had come back to school, the teacher in charge, Mrs Morie Anamaria, had a look at all the work sent by the pupils to check if everything was all right. She added bonuses or removed points if she thought the mission was not fully accomplished. It was the opportunity to have feedback on the activity.

Everybody took a very active part in this interactive visit with great enthusiasm.  It familiarized the participants with the cultural and artistic heritage of the city of Târgu Jiu. Using the GooseChase app of course added fun to the activity. The students improved their spatial orientation and their sense of collaboration.
